New Zealand House, London

There is a bar on top of New Zealand House with great panoramic views of London. This, however, is the view of New Zealand House from the no. 12 bus.

The building always looks very grey and utilitarian. I think all the windows have grey curtains behind them which seem never to be drawn.

I've now been inside the Imperial War Museum, London

here's the roof to prove the point

more to follow - it's a great museum and I will go back at some point

two views of Trellick Tower, London, today

Lots of tower blocks in London are like this in that on one side they look completely deserted, and on the other side, there are balconies so plenty of signs of life.

The Imperial War Museum, London, Saturday

The park outside is really lovely and mostly deserted. I still haven't been into the museum but I intend to do so soon.

two more photos of celebrities to illustrate the point below

views from Somerset House, London

I was attending a pop concert at Somerset House, but my camera phone is celebrity-averse. On the rare occasions I try and take a picture of a celebrity, the camera bathes them in white light or darkness. It copes OK with cranes and buildings though.

Dalston Pool Club

I would like to join, even though there appears to be only one table in there

A building on the South side of Westminster Bridge mid way through demolition

It was derelict for years but they're now building an apart-hotel on the site. The old building looked like a multi-storey car park but ironically it used to be the Greater London Council's planning department, apparently. The old building was magnificently ugly. The new building looks like it will be a bland glass thing. I preferred it midway through demolition.
